Broccoli Prevent and Treat Breast Cancer

One study found that green vegetables can be the key to prevent and even cure breast cancer.

The scientists found the chemical compound in broccoli that can kill cells fuel tumor growth. Broccoli contains sulforaphane a lot that can kill cancer cells and prevent this malignant disease developed or spread.

Various ways can be taken to prevent and treat one of the most feared diseases of female breast cancer. You may be able to add the broccoli as a daily menu, because broccoli effectively prevent and treat cancer.

"Sulforaphane has been studied before, but this research shows that sulforaphane is useful in inhibiting cancer stem cells," said Professor Duxin Sun, author of the study from the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center, as quoted by Dailymail, Friday (7/5/2010).

According to Professor Sun, this is new knowledge that shows the potential of sulforaphane or broccoli extract to prevent and treat cancer by targeting cancer stem cells are critical.

A report on these findings published in the journal Clinical Cancer Research. Experts believe that eliminating cancer stem cells is very important to be able to control the growth of this malignant tumor.

The researchers initially tested this chemical compound in mice, then tested by cell culture complex in human breast cancer in the laboratory. They found similar results.

The results show decline in cancer stem cell population after treatment with sulforaphane, with little effect on normal cells. In addition, cancer cells are treated with chemicals that can not produce new tumors.

Because their work has not been tested in patients, they advise people to add supplements of sulforaphane on their daily menu, to anticipate prevent or treat cancer.

Typical bitter taste of broccoli, making a lot of unpopular people, including former U.S. president George W. Bush. But health effects have been widely recognized, which suggests that chemicals in these vegetables enhance DNA repair in cells.

Other evidence suggests that broccoli may keep arteries healthy and can reverse the damage caused by diabetes to heart blood vessels.

This is because broccoli high in vitamin C and fiber, and a single stalk just to provide almost twice the daily intake of vitamin K is recommended for adults.
